Democrats release Fiona Hill, Lt. Col. Vindman impeachment transcripts

"And it's a very important phone call", Trump said.

"My visceral reaction to what was being called for suggested that it was explicit", he said. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff announced Wednesday that three State Department witnesses will appear in two hearings next Wednesday and Friday: Taylor, career department official George Kent and Marie Yovanovitch, the former US ambassador to Ukraine.

House investigators have released the deposition of Fiona Hill, who until earlier this year served as the top Russian Federation policy specialist on the national security council. Marie Yovanovitch, who was abruptly pulled from her post as U.S. ambassador to Ukraine in May, will testify on Nov 15.

After the July 25 phone call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, during which Trump asked Zelensky to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, Kent received a brief readout of the call from Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the National Security Council's expert on Ukraine.

Williams was one of a handful of U.S. officials who listened in on the call.

Pence himself has repeatedly insisted that Trump did nothing wrong but has not clarified how much he knew about efforts to pressure Ukraine and the parallel Ukraine policy that Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani and others were leading outside the normal diplomatic and official channels. The call sparked immediate concerns among White House officials, several of whom informed an anonymous whistleblower that it appeared the president had tried to illegally lean on a foreign leader for help in an election, using military aid to Ukraine as leverage.

And then? Hill said Bolton abruptly ended the meeting.
