Cavs Kevin Porter Jr. suspended for contact with official

Cleveland Cavaliers Kevin Porter Jr. and Chicago Bulls Ryan Arcidiacono compete for the ball during the first half of an NBA basketball game Wednesday Oct. 30 2019 in Cleveland

He played 21 games for the Trojans. However, he isn't doing it alone, evidenced Tuesday night when teammate Gordon Hayward exploded for a career-high-tying 39 points on 17-of-20 shooting in a 119-113 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Is this going to be the season we see Tatum reach superstar status?

Porter, considered to be one of the more talented players in the 2019 draft, dropped to the 30th pick in part because of character concerns.

When the Celtics brought aboard Gordon Hayward two summers ago, there was supposed to be more games like this. The Cavaliers gave up 114.1 points per game while committing 20 fouls last season. The score remained that way until Hayward's crucial basket after his offensive rebound. He averaged 19.8 points per game in 605 games with the Hornets, making three straight All-Star appearances from 2017-19. Jayson Tatum scored 18 points and Carson Edwards had 13. Love scored 17 and Larry Nance Jr. 15.

The Celtics may also get Enes Kanter back in the lineup. Stevens said Kanter "really wants to play, but our medical staff doesn't feel like he's ready yet.". Love missed a 3 that would have tied the game with just under a minute to play.

Cavaliers: G Matthew Dellavedova returned after missing two games because of personal reasons.

Cavaliers rookie Kevin Porter Jr. missed the game after being suspended by the National Basketball Association for bumping official Bill Spooner in Sunday's loss to Dallas.

Porter made glancing contact with referee Bill Spooner while running down the court in the third quarter of the contest.

Cavaliers: At the Washington Wizards on Friday.
