Finally, for Canadian citizens overseas, or those who would simply rather tackle the entire process from home, you can vote by mail, provided you apply to do so online or at an Elections Canada office by 3:00 p.m.

If you can't wait 12 days for election day on October 21, there will be four days of advance polls from 9 a.m.to 9 p.m. this Friday through Thanksgiving Monday, where you may cast your ballot in the federal election in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound. There is a poll open right now at Dillon Hall at the University of Windsor.

Wednesday, October 16, 2019 is the deadline to register to vote or to make changes to voter registration.

"ID can be one of two things", said Grenier. If you don't have that, then you need two pieces of ID. If you've recently moved, you can make sure you're registered under the correct address and can also check to see where your polling station is and when advance polling takes place in your riding.

The Elections Canada office opened in Sahali Mall one hour after the writ dropped on September 11, anticipating the official start to the election as much as the rest of the country.

The advance poll may not be in the same location as your poll on Election Day, so voters are advised to read the voter information card closely. In Kamloops, polls will close at 7 p.m., at which time staff will begin the process of counting the votes, which remain anonymous. The last day they can vote in person here in our office is Monday, November 4th.

There will be in-person voting Saturday, Nov. 2 from 8 a.m.to 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 3 from 1-5 p.m., and Monday, Nov. 4 from 8 a.m.to 2 p.m. You can check if you're registered or update your address online at Elections Canada. If you have that, that's all you need.

Place your completed special ballot in the unmarked envelope we provided and seal it.

Wellhausen adds those waiting to vote on Election Day will have longer hours to choose from.

If you have not received one, "there could be numerous reasons", said Grenier.

When it's time to count the ballots, the election worker will remove all the unmarked inner envelopes from their signed outer envelopes.
