Teen allegedly hired hitmen to kill her parents

Alyssa Hatcher

Teenager Alyssa Hatcher used her parents' credit card to withdraw money on two separate occasions to pay for a hitman to kill them, police have alleged.

Hatcher has been officially charged with two counts of criminal solicitation of murder.

She's accused of stealing almost $1,500 from her parents and paying two people to kill them.

Bank statements from the card allegedly used by Hatcher to coordinate the killings showed a withdrawal of A$730 and another of A$1,300. She was at a known drug house and it was there that she told him she wanted her parents to be killed.

She went on to say that "since the act was never carried out, she gave the other $900 to a black male to kill her parents", the affidavit says.

She went on to say that she used $100 to buy cocaine and gave $400 to her friend to give someone to kill her parents, according to the affidavit.

Neither plots were successful.

"This is a sad case when you think about the family dynamics and everything", Sergeant Fred Jones, of the Lake County Sheriff's Office, told Fox 35 Orlando.

Hatcher's social media profiles indicate that she was a cheerleader at Umatilla High School.

Hatcher was placed in custody and transported to the Lake County Jail, where she was processed and later turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice. The judge also appointed Hatcher a public defender.

Police said Hatcher's motive as to why she wanted her parents dead is still unclear."The parents are good people, outstanding citizens". The friend backed out and told authorities, according to the news report.

Police identified the second person she tried to recruit, but his identity wasn't disclosed by police.

"The parents did press charges", Sgt. Jones said. "I couldn't even imagine something like that".

He also told WFTV that her parents are decent people.
