MS Dhoni’s wife responds to speculation on retirement press conference

MS Dhoni is enjoying time away from cricket

Kohli captioned the picture as, "A game I can never forget". However, widespread rumors are surfacing on different social media platforms that MS Dhoni has called for a press conference at 7pm on Thursday and he will announce his decision to retire from all formats of the game.

It all happened after the cricketing and media fraternities were on overdrive about the possibility of MSD hanging his boots, based on a post shared by current Indian captain Virat Kohli in which he recalled Mahi's exploits in the 2016 T20 World Cup. "Special night. This man, made me run like in a fitness test".

Kohli could be seen on his knees while Dhoni is walking towards him after scoring the winning runs in the virtual quarter-final.

Kohli remained unbeaten on 82 off just 51 balls and it is still regarded as one of the best T20 knocks for the way he ran along with his the then skipper.

With 67 required from the last six over, Dhoni and Kohli put immediate pressure on Australian fielders by converting singles into doubles and punishing the loose deliveries.

Drawing their own conclusions, many wondered if his tweet was a tribute to Dhoni.

Speculation about Dhoni's cricketing future has been rife ever since the team bowed out of the World Cup in July.

India's squad for three Tests: Virat Kohli (Captain), Mayank Agarwal, Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane (vice-captain), Hanuma Vihari, Rishabh Pant (Wicket-keeper), Wriddhiman Saha (Wicket-keeper), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Shubman Gill. Dhoni making himself unavailable for the tour of West Indies and South Africa series at home has further played the role of fuel to his retirement fire.
