Hailee Steinfeld Eyed To Play Kate Bishop In Hawkeye TV Show

Hailee Steinfeld in Talks for Kate Bishop Role in Hawkeye Disney+ Series

Steinfeld has been offered a lead role in Hawkeye on Disney's new streaming service Disney+.

Hawkeye is scheduled to debut on Disney+ in Fall, 2021. He has already signed on to reprise his role in the Disney+ limited series. Now the MCU will not only consist of its films, but also several 6 hour mini series that will allow for an even more expansive form of story telling and character development.

Avengers 5 has actually been rumored to feature the Young Avengers, so Hailee Steinfeld and Kate Bishop could always appear there if the rumors are legit. Aja and Fraction's Hawkeye featured a storyline centered on Barton taking Kate under his wing and training her.

Steinfeld was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in "True Grit".

Marvel comics fans know that in addition to eventually picking up the Hawkeye mantle, Kate Bishop also eventually becomes a member of a group of teenage superheroes known as the Young Avengers. If the deal goes through, she'll join Jeremy Renner and presumably take over as the MCU's primary archer - because every good superhero team needs that person with a bow and arrow running around as the team's X factor.

In 2018, she starred in Bumblebee, a Transformers spinoff that centered around Optimus Prime's right-hand robot, Bumblebee, landing on Earth and befriending a girl named Charlie Watson, played by Steinfeld. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has also hinted that the series will explore Hawkeye's time as Ronin a bit as well.
