Borderlands 3's explosive launch trailer promises to bring some mayhem

Borderlands 3

Gearbox Software's Borderlands 3 is nearly upon us, and what better way to bring the hype and remind everyone it's close to release than with the Borderlands 3 launch trailer! I'm excited for it and I'm waiting to see what the reaction is. Most of the old characters make a comeback (I love Mr. Torgue) and that is usually a good thing.

In any case, with the embargo lifted, more footage of the game has been making its way online, including the full, high-res version of Borderlands 3's opening cinematic. From this night the Borderlands 3 preload is also available both on PC and on the console, so that you can start preparing everything you need to start playing right away. And that may leave some part of it stuck in the past, but overwhelmingly, it's a game that's still a blast to play, particularly for those into the loot shooter genre. Pick your new favorite Vault Hunter and get ready to save the worlds.

Based on the deal between Epic Games and Gearbox Software, "Borderlands 3" will be exclusive to the store for six months.

The Twins, meanwhile, have found a way to siphon otherworldly powers from some of the galaxy's most formidable beings and have converted a congregation of bandit factions into their own personal army. Only you, a thrill-seeking Vault Hunter, have the arsenal and allies to take them down.

With bazillions of guns and gadgets, every fight is an opportunity to score new gear. Check. Rifles that spawn fire-spewing volcanoes? Yeah, got that too. Tear through hostile deserts, battle your way across war-torn cityscapes, navigate deadly bayous, and more! Take down enemies and challenges as a team, but reap rewards that are yours alone - no one misses out on loot.

Borderlands 3 launches this Friday, September 13, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Borderlands is a series blessed with excellent launch trailers, and the latest is no exception. Keep an eye out for people wearing hockey masks and holding machetes!
