Tour Championship: Brooks Koepka leads after two rounds at East Lake

TOUR Championship- Round One

Only the top 30 on the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup points list qualify for the Tour Championship and their starting scores work on a sliding scale down to the players in 26th to 30th, who begin on level par.

McIlroy capped his 67 with back-to-back birdies, including a bravura finish at 18 where he was in the trees off the tee.

Koepka went for the green in two but couldn't drain his eagle putt.

"I mean, the lead's always nice, so I'll take that", Koepka said. I played good today. "Short game was pretty solid", he said.

"So to shoot three under for the back nine was very pleasing".

"I feel better. I don't feel like I'm clicking 100 per cent, but it's definitely close", he told reporters after his round.

"Everybody's got to deal with the same thing, just didn't execute". "I just didn't execute". Thomas didn't make a birdie on the back nine and shot 68. He, too, said he "kind of had a hard time getting back into it" after the delay. I putted really good.

Three birdies in four holes from the third got Schauffele off to the start he craved, and he picked up further shots at 10 and 11 before another at 14 lifted him to the top of the leaderboard, although he missed a great chance for another from inside six feet at the last.

Thomas, who was first in the standings coming into the week, has struggled to find a rhythm through the first two rounds and has seen his two-shot lead coming into the week disappear through 36 holes.

It's created to ensure the victor of the tournament captures the $15 million FedEx Cup playoff prize.
