Severe Storms Possible Across Iowa Monday

Right now, the entire region is under a slight risk (2 out of 5) for severe weather on Tuesday. Monday is going to be another hot day, with a severe threat during the evening and late night.

Fog has developed this morning, especially well inland. If storms develop in the afternoon, they will have the potential to be severe with hail up to the size of quarters or more, torrential rainfall leading to flash flooding and winds over 60MPH. A few pop up showers and storms are possible Tuesday with some isolated shower activity Wednesday. "So how much clouds and rain do we get with that and how much sunshine is able to break through to generate heating during the midday and afternoon hours", Mazza said. High pressure begins to build on Monday.

Temperatures will reach the 90s again by Wednesday with mostly dry conditions all the way into next weekend.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 63.

More chances of rain return Thursday and Friday.
