LG G8X Renders Leak, Tip Dewdrop Notch, Dual Rear Cameras, Headphone Jack

The IFA 2019 trade show in Berlin is just around the corner, and we now know a little more about what to expect from LG.

LG has been teasing the public about its upcoming flagship smartphone. As per the various reports, this upcoming smartphone will be the successor of G8 ThinQ which was launched earlier this year. Image renders and a 360-degree video surfaced online. There is no indication of a physical fingerprint sensor on the device hence it should be coming with an in-display fingerprint sensor along with the AI facial unlocking system. First up, the LG G8X will feature a 6.2-inch Quad HD+ OLED screen with a waterdrop notch instead of the wide notch that came with the LG G8 ThinQ. The G8X ThinQ will measure in at 159.3 x 75.8 x 8.5mm. Interestingly, the renders reveal an earpiece at the top of the phone, suggesting the G8X ThinQ may not have the Crystal Sound OLED technology present on the G8 ThinQ. It has a dual rear camera setup accompanied with an LED flash, aligned horizontally, like the one we have seen in G8 ThinQ.

The Korean smartphone maker said the new phone had "free stop hinge" technology, created to add the ability to stop and hold the second screen at any position, like a laptop. Just below the volume rockers, there is another key which might be used for the Google Assistant. There's a SIM card tray at the top which the bottom edge of the LG phone will feature a USB-C port, 3.5mm audio jack and speaker grills. It might get powered either by the Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 or the Snapdragon 855+ SoC.
