Rewind feature arrives for NES games with Switch Online

Dauntless

Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, listen up; there's an update coming next week, and what it offers might interest you. However, that's not the big story to come out of the publisher. This feature can help smoothen your gaming experience by allowing you to escape death or retry trickier sections more quickly, though it's obviously completely optional. Players can rewind gameplay by pressing and holding the ZL + ZR buttons. Think of this as the feature that Capcom has implemented into some of its retro collections, like the Disney Afternoon Collection and the Mega Man Legacy Collection. Furthermore, there will be a new Rewind feature, that will be coming on 17 July.

Oh. I should probably mention what those games are, shouldn't I? This time, they're acting as a demolition crew. Also, blow stuff up with explosives!

The latest titles are Donkey Kong 3 and The Wrecking Crew, which will be accessible from July 17 onwards. Armed only with a can of bug spray, Stanley must force Donkey Kong higher and higher into the greenhouse rafters until Donkey Kong is off the screen and the next stage is reached. Donkey Kong is encroaching on your greenhouse and destroying your flowers.

As a reminder, players won't automatically become Nintendo Switch Online members when the service starts, so they will need to purchase an Individual or Family Membership to avoid disruption of their online play in compatible games. Nintendo plans to develop and "improve" Nintendo Switch Online in the future, but no other information is yet accessible.

First up is 1985's puzzle-action game Wrecking Crew. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years.
