CBS All Access Releases Key Art For Picard Show

First STAR TREK PICARD Key Art Revealed

Double check. The new Star Trek Picard poster gives us yet another look at Patrick Stewart's return to the Trek universe, and it immediately distinguishes itself from most Trek-related material by being rooted on terra firma.

The 78-year-old actor shared the image Wednesday to his Instagram.

As shown in the teaser and this image, this now includes a career as a vintner as the Picard family winery. And he appears to have acquired a pit bull dog. Check. Dog? Check. Picard showing off his money maker?

Little has been revealed about the series, though it will focus on the commander after his retirement from the fleet. If it wasn't for the giant planet and spectacular sunset on the horizon, you'd be forgiven for thinking this was more Sideway 2 than Star Trek. The series will debut at an unspecified date this year on the CBS All Access streaming series.

Until then, Star Trek: Picard is premiering later in 2019 on CBS All Access. "Star Trek: Discovery" alum Hanelle Culpepper will direct the first two episodes.

He also starred in three previous films and Star Trek: The Next Generation from 1987-1994.

I previously reported for Deseret News that the upcoming series will likely cover the fallout of Romulus' destruction - Picard spent a good portion of time in "Star Trek: The Next Generation" attempting to broker peace with the Romulan Empire before they cloned him in "Star Trek: Nemesis".

Expect a full trailer to be released and further info at next week's San Diego Comic-Con.
