The worst things Cersei Lannister has ever done

The worst things Cersei Lannister has ever done

Things are about to get very heated, both on and off of the television screen.

Cersei was one of the many characters to die in a surprising way in Game of Thrones Season 8. Among the footage is the first look ever at the fabled season 8 table read (where Kit Harington cried more than once) and a glimpse of star Emilia Clarke's final shot on the show. But since she arrived with paramour Jon Snow at Winterfell, her assured leadership and circumspect strategies have evaporated.

The penultimate episode of Game of Thrones was positively filled to the brim with carnage, and its loyal fans were there every step of the way to make their thoughts on what went down known across social media.

But you can bet the Game of Thrones showrunners were up to something completely wacky when writing "The Bells", and as the episode's events unfolded, fans were absolutely feeling some type of way about what took place - mostly, the actions taken by one fan favorite character: Daenerys. We know Cersei grew up to marry King Robert Baratheon, so that's one down.

The show has been heavily foreshadowing a version of Dany who follows in her father, the "Mad" King Aerys Targaryen's footsteps. Yes, everyone's favorite snitch ended up betraying Daenerys, and for that she decided it was time for him to pay. "It's in that moment on the walls of King's Landing, when she's looking at that symbol of everything that was taken from her, when she makes the decision to make this personal". And while things turned into a "moral free for all", with the good guys becoming the bad guys, it was always their intention to see Clegane Bowl come to life.

Headey said the ending was especially great for Jaime's arc.

"I think he knows that they belong together, they came into this world together, that they need to go out of this world together", Weiss surmised. But [showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss] obviously know what they're doing and were adamant Cersei would do what she had to do.

The final episode of Game of Thrones, set to air this Sunday, and it should ultimately reveal Daenerys' fate.
