Zion Williamson declares for NBA Draft

Duke’s Zion Williamson Announces His NBA Draft Decision

Duke Blue Devils star freshman Zion Williams shocked absolutely nobody on Monday when he announced that he will be taking his talents to the National Basketball Association.

And that it was, the 6-foot-7 forward averaging 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists over 33 games that included an ACC Championship and NCAA tournament disappointment, with the Blue Devils bowing out to Michigan State in the Elite 8.

Williamson called it the "best year of his life", while thanking all the usual suspects (family, Coach K, teammates) for their support in his successful freshman campaign at Duke.

Williamson became a viral sensation for his dunking displays in high school, then delivered in his lone collegiate season at Duke.

The high-flyer is widely expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft. Barrett and Cam Reddish in the NBA Draft, as the fourth freshman, Tre Jones, announced that he will be returning to Duke for his sophomore season. The NBA Draft Lottery takes place on Tuesday, May 14, in what will be one of the most anticipated nights of the offseason. That will determine which team gets the No. 1 overall pick. The Phoenix Suns share the same best-possible odds at the No. 1 pick of 14 percent with the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers.
