First Lion King Trailer Is Impressive And Nostalgic

However, as we see in the first official The Lion King trailer, that CG animation is breathtakingly handsome.

Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we're taking a sneak peek at the brand new trailer for THE LION KING! That 2016 movie grossed almost $1 billion worldwide, and The Lion King will use the same computer technology that brought The Jungle Book to vibrant life. Watch the trailer below. Check out the trailer for The Lion King in the player below! It's directed by Jon Favreau, known for his work on Iron Man and the 2016 Jungle Book remake. But as someone who is jaded with these countless Disney "live-action" remakes, I will say that hearing James Earl Jones once again voice Mufasa sent chills down my spine.

The all-star cast also includes Seth Rogen as the warthog Pumbaa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as the nefarious lion Scar, Billy Eichner as the wise-cracking meerkat Timon, John Oliver as the hornbill Zasu and Keegan-Michael Key as the hyena Kamari. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub's arrival.

The highest-grossing movie of 2019 is probably going to be either Avengers: Endgame, which is on pace for a $250 million opening weekend, or Star Wars: Episode IX.

Fans of the original animated classic will see echoes of many iconic scenes and locations, including Pride Rock, the stampede and Simba's departure and return.
