UEFA orders investigation into PSG star Neymar for rant after Man United defeat

UEFA said on Wednesday that they have opened a disciplinary investigation into Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar's inappropriate statement after a Champions League match.

The Brazil global blasted the use of VAR to award Manchester United a late penalty in their 3-1 Champions League round-of-16 second-leg win at Parc des Princes last week that secured a 3-3 away goals success.

The Brazilian called the referee's decision "a disgrace" and said on social media that it was not possible to give a penalty for that.

The Brazilian used Instagram to aim an expletive and insults at video review officials who intervened before Man United was awarded a stoppage-time penalty for handball that eliminated PSG. "Go f- yourselves!" Neymar wrote on Instagram.

Neymar was reportedly restrained by club staff as he confronted referee Damir Skomina after the game in a furious tunnel bust-up.

In a statement UEFA announced a disciplinary investigation "has been initiated ... in connection with the comments made on social media by the Paris Saint-Germain player Neymar following the above-mentioned match". "They get four guys who don't understand football to watch a slow motion replay in front of the TV", before ending his comments with an abusive remark.

Neymar was watching injured as United overturned a 2-0 first-leg deficit.
