Hello Games Introduces No Man's Sky Beyond & 'No Man's Sky Online'

Beyond will release as a three-part update beginning in the coming months with No Man's Sky Online. Titled Beyond, it introduces a new social and multiplayer experience the studio is calling No Man's Sky Online. Like that of No Man's Sky Next, Beyond is a free gift from Hello Games to its community of active players, and Murray promises to continue supporting No Man's Sky well into the foreseeable future. While some of us might have thought that Hello Games would pull back on No Man's Sky development after NEXT shipped, the company apparently didn't. It will remain free for all players, won't contain microtransactions, and won't require a subscription (aside from Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus on consoles). At launch, it might as well have been singleplayer, and even now that it lets you join forces with other players, there are quite a few limitations that create frustrating roadblocks.

The Beyond update will actually include more than just a multiplayer update - it will include three updates that were initially due to be released separately.

"These changes are an answer to how we have seen people playing since the release of NEXT, and is something we've dreamed of for a long time." added founder Sean Murray. No Man's Sky Beyond is the next chapter in the cosmic adventure, and it should be the largest one yet. The game was riddled with bugs and many players felt that the graphics were lacking. We still don't know much about the update, but we do know that it won't be ready until this coming summer.

No Man's Sky hasn't always had a great relationship with multiplayer.
