Super Mario Maker 2 announced for Switch

Nintendo Direct confirmed for tomorrow - Fire Emblem news promised

Get ready for a new Nintendo Direct just in time for Valentine's Day.

The first Nintendo Direct of 2019 is officially underway.

Nintendo has already announced that Daemon X Machina, Luigi's Mansion 3, a new Animal Crossing game and a core Pokemon title will be hitting the Switch this year.

GameCentral's own sources have also suggested that the team behind 2013's A Link Between Worlds is working on a new game, but they couldn't confirm it was actually a Zelda title.

One of the most exciting parts of the report is that Metroid Prime Trilogy could be due to arrive on the Nintendo Switch - and soon. It will focus on Nintendo Switch games, with the Nintendo 3DS not mentioned.

Nintendo will be broadcasting the Direct on its Twitch channel as well, but don't expect to have any quality interactions with other viewers as Twitch chat will likely be moving at a ridiculous pace once the presentation starts.

After a solid couple of months of speculation, the next Nintendo Direct is almost here. You can also tune in right here on GameSpot and follow along with the Direct using the YouTube embed below.

The announcement comes to no surprise, but what is surprising is how long we have until the launch of the game.
