McDonald's launching limited-time Donut Sticks

McDonald’s confirmed rumored plans to debut “Donut Sticks” on Feb. 20

You may have heard the rumors, and now it's a reality.

The new donut sticks are a limited-time item and will be available nationwide from February 20. McDonald's is marketing it as a crunchy outside sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and a soft, doughy inside.

"We initially tested them in select IL restaurants in early 2018, and then again in October 2018", said Linda VanGosen, McDonald's vice president of menu innovation, in a statement.

The donuts come by the half-dozen and dozen, are made fresh throughout the morning, and are never microwaved. Participating locations will also be offering a combo deal, where you'll be able to get a half-dozen Donut Sticks and a small coffee for a special price.

Sold by the half-dozen or by the dozen, the sticks are created to perfectly pair with McDonald's premium roast McCafé coffee.

Donut Sticks were tested in select IL locations in early 2018 and October 2018.

In addition to adding a new breakfast item, CNN Business reported that McDonald's is looking for new ways to bump customer numbers. They look similar to Dunkin' Donut Fries.
