"I have hope in my heart that together we will start a new kind of politics, a politics in which all of you will be stakeholders - my young friends, my sisters and even the weakest person, all their voices will be heard".

On January 25, Bihar minister Vinod Narayan Jha, in a statement, called Priyanka Gandhi "a very lovely face" who had no political achievement to her credit. She has so far followed seven accounts and they include Congress President Rahul Gandhi, the Congress, Ahmed Patel, Randeep S Surjewala, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot.

She has been put in charge of the party in Uttar Pradesh state, which sends a large number of lawmakers to parliament and often plays a crucial role in deciding who forms the government.

Congress workers are planning a roadshow when the three leaders travel from the airport to the party's state headquarters.

The opposition Congress party is counting on the 47-year-old daughter of assassinated premier Rajiv Gandhi to boost its campaign against nationalist Hindu Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is expected to call an election in April.

This is not the first time that BJP leaders have courted controversy with their remarks on Priyanka Gandhi. Ahead of Priyanka's mega roadshow, a phone message popped up from Priyanka Gandhi saying "Lucknow, I am coming'".

She has taken up the position 14 months after her brother became party president.

The Congress on Monday announced that its newly appointed AICC General Secretary in-charge of Uttar Pradesh East, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, had made her debut on Twitter. "The state's farmers want Rahul Gandhi to be prime minister, Priyanka to be chief minister". "The youth of Uttar Pradesh need a roadmap for the future and the state needs change", he said.
