Can't connect to Windows Update? You're not alone

According to ZDNet, this problem should now be resolved with the drivers being pushed over Windows Update, if you allow WU to install drivers. Microsoft has acknowledged that the DNS issue may still be affecting some users until the DNS changes have been propagated to all affected DNS servers. We expect these issues will go away as downstream DNS servers are updated with the corrected Windows Update DNS entries.

The UWP version of Windows File Manager is available to be installed on PC, mobile, Surface Hub and HoloLens, the Microsoft Store listing reads, which is only partially true, Softmedia News reported on Saturday. However several of BT's customers have today emailed in to say that the Windows Update service started working for them during the early hours of this morning (we're waiting to see if this is true for everybody).

In other words, folks could fire up a manual check for the upgrade, and go ahead and install it - but now Microsoft has updated its support document (as spotted by Windows Latest) to let us know that the October 2018 Update will now be automatically delivered to iCloud users on Windows 10 starting from the middle of the month. However, the issue seems to have impacted multiple internet service providers (ISPs) around the world, including ISPs from the U.S., United Kingdom and Japan.

Windows 10 users continue to have problems performing Windows Update even after Microsoft reportedly has fixed the problem that users were having last week. "We are actively investigating this issue".

Windows Update should work on most Windows devices again; some systems may still report connection errors.

That outage left some Windows users in the USA and United Kingdom unable to get security, software, and operating system updates from Microsoft's update service.

Apple has released an updated version of iCloud for Windows (version 7.8.1) that resolves compatibility issues encountered when updating or synching Shared Albums after updating to Windows 10, version 1809.

Desktop App Assure is available in 10 languages, and aims to encourage businesses to migrate from older versions of Windows that are unsupported by ensuring their applications are compatible with Windows 10.
