Bud Light’s Super Bowl ad angers the corn industry

Confetti falls onto the field after Super Bowl LIII at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. However, during one spot in the second quarter, the Bud Knight met his demise at the hands of The Mountain.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos decided not to air an expensive Super Bowl commercial for his private space aviation firm, Blue Origin, because of his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez's involvement in its production, according to a report on Monday.

When Bud Light unveiled the new ingredients label, which will be seen on its cartons starting this month, Bud Light Vice President, Marketing Andy Goeler told Marketing Daily: "As the leading brand in the category, we believe increasing on-pack transparency will benefit the entire beer category and provide our consumers with the information they expect to see".

Farmer Kevin Ross posted a video of him pouring a can of beer down a sink, saying: "Bud Light, you're not standing with corn farmers". Our office is right down the road!

HBO "wanted to surprise the roughly 100 million people expected to tune in to Super Bowl and turn an ad for another brand into a show promo", the Wall Street Journal article notes. "We love you guys".

This year's Super Bowl ads are created to entertain and go down easy, as Stella Artois brings back Carrie Bradshaw and "The Dude" and the Backstreet Boys and Chance the Rapper remix the 1990s classic I Want It That Way for Doritos.

Female celebrities and themes of women's empowerment were also prevalent this year. Yes, during one of the most 'Merican events of the year, every USA automaker sat out actually broadcasting their expected red-white-and-blue celebrity-cameo truck commercials-only Chrysler even gave it a half-try, with almost a dozen ads it posted to the Internet instead of the TV.
