Alia Bhatt responds to Kangana Ranaut calling her ‘Karan Johars Puppet

Mumbai: Actor Tanushree Dutta on Sunday claimed that Kangana Ranaut is a "bonafide A++ list actress". In her statement recently, she took Alia Bhatt's name and said that she went all out to promote Raazi while Alia never took pains in promoting Manikarnika let alone supporting her in the controversy that erupted during the release of the film. She is brilliant. I applaud her courage and performances.

However, Kangana, upon learning Alia's reaction, came down heavily on her and asked Alia to grow a spine and support a film about women empowerment and nationalism. If I have upset her unintentionally, then I don't know. She has recently called out the whole of Bollywood for ganging up against her and how she is going to be after them from now on. I told her if she is only focusing on earning bucks and not raise a voice, then her success has no value. "For me, it was not a Karan Johar film or Alia film, for me, it was a film on Sehmat Khan, the girl who has given her everything to the country". "Hope she understands the true meaning of success and her responsibilities", Kangana had further said.

"Tanushree, who is now in the U.S., said that 'besides being a powerhouse performer, she has truly set an example of someone who has made a unique and celebrated place for herself in an industry tough to conquer for an outsider. This Damsel has truly made it all the way despite all the distress; leaving the frat boys club of Bollywood and their dames twiddling their thumbs in abject contempt for her success". Basically, it wasn't my intention. She even said that Alia's existence is all about being Karan Johar's puppet.

Kangana had earlier called out Bollywood's hypocrisy in not promoting her films.

Kangana Ranaut's "Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi" crossed its first benchmark- the Rs. 50 crore mark after five days at the box office.

Now, Alia has come forward and reacted to her "puppet" comment. The actress got disappointed from the response she got on her movie from the film fraternity.
