The Mega Millions jackpot starts at $40 million and continues to grow by at least $5 million each drawing until a victor puts a stop to it.

A New Jersey Lottery tickets winning the $10,000 jackpot was sold at a Bergen County convenience store. The jackpot was actually won once, on January 1, 2008.

The next drawing is New Year's day. Other than the jackpot, prizes can range from $2 to $5 million depending on the type of ticket.

The drawing will be Tuesday at 11 p.m. ET.

The game's second-largest jackpot of 2018 - a whopping $543 million - was won by a group of office workers in the Bay Area back on July 24.

With no Mega Millions victor on Friday night, the next drawing is Tuesday night for a whopping $415 million jackpot - with a $248.8 million cash option. Mega Millions is available to people in 44 states, as well as the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
