The sixth-placed Rams are set to take on the Championship leaders on Friday in a clash of two teams with promotion aspirations.

Derbyshire Police attended County's training ground on Thursday after a man was seen at the perimeter fence of the Moor Farm complex.

The man has since been confirmed as a member of Leeds United's "footballing staff".

Derby say they are "in discussion" with officials from Leeds about what happened.

Derby County have confirmed that police were contacted after a employee of Leeds United was caught "acting suspiciously" outside of their training ground.

The tweet hinted at potential pre-match espionage, with the hashtag "SpyingIsCheating" included at the end.

"Derby County Football Club can confirm that officers from the Derbyshire Constabulary were called to the Derby County Training Centre at around 11:20am on Thursday 10th January, 2019, following reports of a man acting suspiciously outside the premises", it read.

"It's true there was someone from Leeds United", said Biesla when asked about the incident.

Derby, who now occupy the final playoff position in the league table, have amassed 43 points from 26 games in the Championship.

'Because if preparation and tactics are not part of the game, and not so sacred that you can work in your own training ground, then I think they're lucky managers because they must be'.

Despite their inconsistency in the first half of the season, Derby have managed to script a number of impressive victories on the road so far this term.

Derby, however, moved to point the finger at Leeds this afternoon, a matter of hours ahead of their visit to Elland Road.

Lampard revealed that Derby don't intend to lodge a complaint about the matter but added that Leeds also spied on his team's training session before the sides met in August, with Bielsa's team winning that game 4-1.
