Here’s how The Accidental Prime Minister and Uri opened at the box-office

Other films that have been released this week are Vicky Kaushal starrer Uri: The Surgical Strike and Anupam Kher's The Accidental Prime Minister. According to The Quint's Stutee Ghosh Kaushal, in his "all guns blazing avatar, plays his role with exactly the right amount of vigour and vulnerability". Based on true events the film follows the story of India's covert operation carried out as retribution for the devastating Uri attack.

Besides Vicky Kaushal, Uri: The Surgical Strike features Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal and Kirti Kulhari in key roles. "Till the film is released, you don't have an idea if it is going to work". If yes, then let us know about your reactions. The film opened on a great and was given thumbs-up by the critics and audience. "Uri" is receiving some competition from The Accidental Prime Minister but still has earned a good amount of ₹8.20 crore on its opening day.

Vicky also praised his co-actors and director Aditya Dhar for being part of the film. "In today's age, it is very hard for a debutant director to get backing from producers for the story and then get a huge release for his film". The actor, who was seen in films like "Raazi", "Sanju" and "Manmarziyaan" previous year, will soon be gearing up for Karan Johar's "Takht", which will also feature Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor.
