Just in time for spring, winter arrives: The final season of Game of Thrones will premiere on Sunday, April 14.

This eighth season is only six episodes long, which means the finale should be on May 19 if HBO doesn't skip any Sundays.

On Friday, HBO revealed that the premiere date would be announced ahead of Sunday's True Detective Season 3 premiere, thereby building anticipation once again for what we were already anxiously awaiting.

Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) are wandering in the crypts of Winterfell, where once their father Ned Stark was seen having a conversation with Robert Baratheon.

Season eight will premiere at 1pm, April 15, Sky said. The crypt teaser begins with heavy overtures of Jon's true Targaryen parentage as he walks past Lyanna Stark's crypt.

However, we won't know what's in store for the Starks-as well as the villains we love to hate like Cersei Lannister-until this spring, when HBO releases the final episodes in this story, for now. So without first ado, check out the Game of Thrones Season 8 trailer below. As all three Stark kids stand in front of their own crypt statues, they turn as a frost creeps down the hallway.

HBO's titanic hit series Game of Thrones is coming back for its eighth and final season this spring. The makers have at last ended the suspense and also given the premiere date, which is April 14.
