Former Mae Young Classic Competitor Reportedly Set To Sign WWE Contract

Kenny Omega to AEW All Elite Wrestling after nixing WWE

According to Dave Meltzer on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Piper Niven (Viper) will be signing with WWE once her current World of Sport Wrestling contract expires. One of the big reveals from the rally was the fact that Chris Jericho had signed full time with All Elite Wrestling.

Jericho fanned the flames of a potential wrestling company war on Tuesday in Jacksonville when he said that AEW was about to "change the universe", a direct reference to the WWE calling their fanbase the "WWE Universe".

Whilst so much has been going well for the new promotion, the company can not run on three wrestlers alone, and obviously will be needing to sign more talent soon.

AEW is the brainchild of another former WWE star Cody Rhodes - son of wrestling legend Dusty Rhodes - and The Young Bucks, an Indie sensation tag team. This including signings such as Britt Baker, Penelope Ford, PAC, and Chris Jericho as well as All In: Double or Nothing taking place on May 25 in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Arena. Interestingly, it was announced that not only would AEW have a women's division when it launched, but that female talent would be paid on a scale equal to what male talent is paid. "He is definitely one of the pioneers of wrestling".

So to summarise, it's either AEW or NJPW - or NJPW and AEW, it seems...
