This specially tuned demo allows you to experience the newly reimagined Resident Evil 2, but be warned: whilst you can continue as many times as you like after dying, you'll only have 30 MINUTES to complete the demo. PC players have figured out a hack to reset the timer, and console players are using multiple profiles to get around it. Make it count, however, as you'll only have 30 minutes with the demo before it expires. Thus, we have the burgeoning, likely short-lived, idea of speedrunning the thing. The demo event officially kicks off on January 11 and will run until January 31.

The Resident Evil 2 demo download size is 7.91GB according to a listing on the Australian PS Store.

The "1-Shot demo" for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One will last just 30 minutes. You won't be able to play the demo again once the time has expired, but you can view the trailer as much as you'd like. The full game won't have this restriction however. Furthermore, all the action in the Resident Evil 2 demo takes place in Racoon City Police Station, putting you in the role of Leon Kennedy, one of the full game's two protagonists. Upon completing the demo, you will be given a new cinematic trailer to watch.

Being a remake of 20-year old game, Resident Evil 2 does away with fixed camera angles featured in the original. Unless you need to replay the demo a thousand times over heading into the game's launch, there's little reason to seek this one out.

It was recently revealed that the Resident Evil 2 Remake demo has an interesting gimmick attached.
