Antonio Brown responds to George Kittle recruiting WR to 49ers

Following Monday's news that Brown was benched for the Steelers' season finale after a disagreement with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, 49ers tight end George Kittle tweeted "Sup?" at Brown.

And now Brown has requested a trade, CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported Tuesday. The 49ers certainly are in need of a true No. 1 wide receiver - a profile which Brown certainly fits.

Tweets don't determine anything in regards to the National Football League trade market, but Kittle's tweet and Brown's response weren't made without pretense.

According to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the reason Antonio Brown did not play in the Steelers season-ending game vs. the Bengals is because he elected to sit out practice after a dispute with a teammate earlier in the week. Landry is one of the league's best receivers, but he does not have the speed that allows him to create enough separation from a secondary focused on him. The Browns have said they are interested in bringing Perriman back next season.

"That day at practice, Antonio and I nearly got into a fight because he was saying things to (former Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau)", Clark recalled. If the Brown were to be sent to another team, the Steelers would have to eat $21.1 million in dead cap space for 2019.

Even if general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan were onboard with the possibility of adding a player like Brown, the receiver has three years remaining on his contract. It probably won't happen, but the Browns should call about his availability to gauge the possibility of a trade.
