Richard Sherman: I don't have a relationship with Russell Wilson

San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman warms up before an NFL football game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Tampa Fla. Sherman will see his former team up close on Sunday when the San Fra

Russell Wilson, who passed for 339 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in Seattle's success. He has four catches for 114 yards after this 75-yard catch-and-run early in the fourth quarter. Look for Sherman to do everything he can by bouncing back in Seattle.

Coming off a ruptured Achilles, the 49ers made a decision to take a chance on Sherman, adding some much-needed depth and experience at corner. They drove 58 yards in seven plays on the next possession, capping it off with a 17-yard Dante Pettis touchdown reception that make it 27-10.

Sherman also pointed out the personnel losses on the defensive side of the ball as well, but mentioned a few positives, including the play of quarterback Nick Mullens.

The Seahawks said it was an homage to one of the principals of that play, current 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman. But at the same time Baldwin and Lockett would love nothing more than to get in the end zone and bust out one of their epic touchdown celebrations in front of Sherman. You lose two of your WILL linebackers and then [Malcolm Smith] is kind of beat up.

"I don't really have a relationship with Russell", Sherman said via ESPN. It's nowhere near where coaches and players expected to be at this point in the season.

The San Francisco 49ers' latest loss should have come as no surprise given the opponent and the location.

As Sherman points out, the 49ers have been playing shorthanded for much of the season beyond just the loss of Garoppolo. He has thrown 84 touchdown passes going back to the start of the 2016 season, which is more than any quarterback other than New Orleans' Drew Brees and the Chargers' Phillip Rivers, both of whom have thrown more passes than Wilson in that time.

Sherman joined the Seahawks in 2011 as a fifth-round pick out of Stanford and nearly immediately established himself as one of the game's premier shutdown cornerbacks.

The Seahawks are one of the hottest teams in the league at the moment and couldn't have put it all together at a better time as they attempt to grab one of the NFC Wild Card spots.

Following the trip to Seattle, the Niners will return home for three in a row before ending the regular season in Los Angeles against the Rams.
