Real Madrid complete 10-1 aggregate thrashing of Melilla

Santiago Solari keen for Real Madrid to not look too far ahead

The Portuguese is confident that Madrid president Florentino Perez will be willing to offer him an escape route from Manchester at the end of the current campaign, despite Santiago Solari now being in charge of the European champions.

Isco has been used from the bench by Solari, but fans and pundits alike have been puzzled by his treatment of the playmaker.

Real Madrid's head coach Santiago Solari expects which ever side he picks to play with intensity against Melilla in the second leg of their Copa del Rey tie.

"This Thursday there is a match and many players will come, we want to see several [younger] players on the field". There are 24 players in the squad, plus those who are at Castilla. It's a competition that I am passionate about, I think it's brilliant'. I do not believe in anyone being indisputable, neither now nor when I played. Everything is debatable, what we have to do is give our best to be available and give our best when playing.

Solari responded to the online poll saying that he, Solari, did not see that photo and that he "does not manage social media networks".

Madrid have not always been so comfortable against lower division teams in the Copa in recent years, and Solari said the 10 goals scored across the two legs showed how everyone within his squad was focused on their jobs.

Real Madrid are not going to sell Isco for pennies on the dollar, though - Los Blancos have already established the amount that would convince them to allow the 26-year-old midfielder to leave Santiago Bernabeu.

"It comes in a period of maturity in his career, which makes it even nicer because he appreciates it's true value".

"I'm also very happy for Asensio, who scored two goals, and for Vinicius, who did another".
