Mourinho deserves respect for achievements at Man United - Luke Shaw

Pogba's problem not behaviour insists Saha

José Mourinho was sacked as United manager earlier this week and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was named as caretaker manager until the end of the season.

"What's really important is to get the Manchester United culture back, the Manchester United identity back".

Speaking to United's official websiteafter the victory at Cardiff, Shaw said: "As a Man United team, we always try to play quickly, no matter what manager it is or who it's with".

"But this is football and we have to carry on, to fight for the club". They scored a goal but we didn't change anything.

Pogba came in for criticism on Tuesday when a photo tagged "caption this" was posted to his social media channels in the immediate aftermath of the Red Devils confirming Mourinho had left the club, although it was later claimed that the submissions were scheduled by his sponsors adidas.

"I'll have a good think about this over Christmas and New Year and make a decision about it".

Manchester United's chances of winning the Premier League title this year remain slim, however, with the English giants now 19 points off leaders Liverpool.

Restored to the starting line-up for the first time in four league games, Pogba was instrumental in setting up four of United's five goals on Saturday.

"Obviously, one of the trophies was one we had not won before".

"People might be quick to forget what Jose did for United - the three trophies he won - he did a lot", said Shaw, referring to the fact that Mourinho won the Community Shield, Europa League and FA Cup in his first season, 2016-17.

"We have to take some responsibility for that [his sacking] as we are on the pitch". But to get to know the players and think "what can I improve them on" - that's my job.
