Matteo Darmian denies rift between Jose Mourinho and Manchester United players

Marcos ROJO plays in first Manchester United match against Arsenal since May

He has made just six Premier League appearances since his £52m move from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer and was not even among the substitutes for the 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Wednesday. Diogo Dalot has warned Manchester United that Fulham's visit to Old Trafford does not represent an easy chance to get back on track but insists Jose Mourinho is the man to guide his struggling team back into the top four.

"You have also other players in other clubs that needed time".

"I think we believe as a squad", he said.

United are 18 points behind league leaders Manchester City and eight behind the Champions League places. Mourinho again spoke about United being unbeaten in their past four matches, despite the dire results, but admitted there would be "no excuses" for not beating Fulham, even though he praised Claudio Ranieri's side and implied the table did not reflect their abilities.

"For sure we are not going to play with players in the maximum of their potential", Mourinho said.

"There are special players with special characteristics".

"But I prefer to say the team as a team had that mentality and we have to try to transport to this game (against Fulham)". For me it is very good.

"And we need points, but Fulham are the same".

The Red Devils have only collected 23 points in their opening 15 games in the Premier League to highlight their inconsistent form in Jose Mourinho's third season in charge.

Mourinho was waiting for Friday's training session to assess the fitness of Chis Smalling, Phil Jones, Anthony Martial and Eric Bailly - while Victor Lindelof and Alexis Sanchez are "not worth speaking about".
