Sandra Oh, Andy Samberg to co-host Globes

The 2018 Golden Globe Awards telecast averaged a 5.0 rating in adults 18-49 and 19 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research, putting it ahead of every show on television from the previous 10 months in total viewers, since the prior year's Academy Awards.

The 76th Golden Globe Awards will be held January 6, 2019. And in 2015, Samberg hosted the Emmy awards to generally positive reviews.

"Sandra and Andy are the flawless choices to host this world-class event", Paul Telegdy and George Cheeks, co-chairmen of Globes broadcaster NBC Entertainment, said in a statement on Wednesday, adding they would bring "wit, charm and style" to the ceremony.

The Golden Globes Awards honor the best of both worlds every year, with statuettes handed out to the cream of the crop in television and film. Samberg, meanwhile, is a two-time Golden Globe victor for his work on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, taking home statuettes in both the acting and producing categories.

Sandra Oh, left, and Andy Samberg have been announced as co-hosts for the Golden Globes in 2019.

The 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards air Sunday, Jan. 9 at 8/7c on NBC. Oh, meanwhile, now stars (and serves as co-executive producer) on BBC America's "Killing Eve", for which she was nominated for Best Actress in a Drama at this year's Emmys. That was down slightly from the 2017 show to a six-year demo low, but still ranked as the most watched awards show since the Oscars.

Both stars have won Golden Globes, but neither have ever hosted the award show before.

Added Mike Mahan, Executive Producer and CEO, dick clark productions. "Brooklyn Nine-Nine", on which he stars as Detective Jake Peralta, was canceled by Fox in May after five seasons.
