'Captain Marvel' packs quite a punch in new trailer

The New 'Captain Marvel' Trailer Is Here And It's Insane

The first Captain Marvel trailer debuted on ABC's Good Morning America on September 18 - both networks are sister companies of Marvel Studios under the Walt Disney Company umbrella. And I'm so grateful for that character that she created, and now we're just kind of following the breadcrumb trail that she made, you know? It's a striking palette for Marvel, and one that promises a bold new voice in the MCU. As Captain Marvel, Danvers joins forces with the Kree to fight the Skrull aliens, intent on destroying Earth.

Larson's role was first teased in a post-credits scene of Avengers: Infinity War, when Fury was seen messaging Captain Marvel for help. There's no official word on that yet, but we'll be willing it to be true with every fibre of our beings. Fans nicknamed themselves the Carol Corps, rocking Carol's new signature mohawk helmet and her fully-covering suit at conventions (no more butt cheeks hanging out!). And it wouldn't be much of a Captain Marvel film without a nod to Goose the cat. When we sat down on set with Brie Larson-the actor who's bringing her to life-she was quick to gush about the love story at the center of the film.

In the comic books, Carol Danvers gets her powers, including the ability to fly and manipulate energy, when the Psyche-Magnitron, a Kree wishing machine, explodes.

Danvers is haunted by flashes of her past life on Earth and a sense of duty to protect the planet.

Look out for him, Brie Larson, and the rest of the cast in Captain Marvel, due out in March of 2019. And she gets unintentionally involved in their war.

Who exactly is Carol Danvers?

Funko, the incredibly hot collectible company who makes everyone's favorite cartoony bobble-heads released their Captain Marvel line of Pop! figures.
