Virat Kohli lashes out at fan

‘I don’t think you should live in India, go and live somewhere else’: Virat Kohli lashes out at fan

"I enjoy watching English and Australian batsmen more than these Indians".

Kohli, who launched the "Virat Kohli Official App" on his 30th birthday on Monday, faced the backlash after his reaction to a fan, who confessed his preference for English and Australian cricketers over Kohli's blue brigade.

Kohli who found the comment to be mean said that "I don't think you should live in India. Get your priorities right", Kohli replied.

The video went viral and has prompted a torrent of criticism against Kohli on social media.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli wants team's star pacers to skip the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) so that they can be "fresh and fit" for the forthcoming ICC World Cup 2019.

Writing about Kohli's latest comments, Times of India journalist Dwaipayan Dutta wonders if the cricket captain is "losing perspective" off the field. I loved watching Sachin, Viru (Virender Sehwag), Sourav (Ganguly), VVS (Laxman), Rahul (Dravid) bat but also loved Mark Waugh, Brian Lara and so many others.

"I think this has to do with respecting cricketing excellence without any thoughts about geographical or political boundaries", he continued.

Kohli is quite active on Instagram where he can be seen posting video promoting global brands.

This isn't the first time Kohli has been in the spotlight for controversial statements.

It has also been learnt that no request has been made by team India about resting the batsmen. The BCCI's revenue will fall, and consequently the players' fees. He should walk the talk and support the BCCI's partners rather than focusing on private endorsements. Kohli is now not in action for Team India as he was rested for the ongoing T20I series against West Indies.
