Soon, you’ll have 10 minutes to ‘unsend’ a Facebook message

The bad news is that you'll only get 10 minutes after sending a message to delete it.

It should be noted that this ten-minute window to delete a sent message for both yourself and the recipient is a lot shorter than the one-hour period offered by the Facebook-owned WhatsApp.

Well don't worry, because Mark Zuckerberg has come to the rescue.

According to the tech giant, users can soon remove a message within 10 minutes of sending it. In my experience, you know pretty quickly whether you've sent a message to the wrong person (or the wrong message to the right person) most of the time.

Compared to Facebook other messaging application, you'll actually have significantly less time to delete a sent message in Facebook's flagship Messenger app. WhatsApp users are now afforded just over one hour to remove a message from both users' inbox.

The option was first announced in April, followed by testing later in October.

A Twitter user spotted the feature listed as "coming soon" in the release notes for version 191.0 of Messenger's iOS client, The Verge reported on Wednesday. Gmail actually holds the email in a que for the time interval chosen.

Have you ever wanted to take back a message you already sent?
