The family friend also added that the Duchess of Cornwall was an important mentor to Meghan Markle when she first joined the royal family, welcoming her with open arms and showing her the ropes when it comes to royal protocol.

And today Doria Ragland appeared to be making the most of the LA heat where temperatures reached 77°F (25°C) today, as she took her dogs for a walk in the Californian sunshine.

Harry's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, memorably broke protocol past year by inviting Meghan as the first fiancée to attend Christmas with the royal family before her wedding to Harry in May.

"It's a mark of the Queen's respect for Meghan and an acknowledgment that she doesn't have any other relations in this country - unlike Kate who has the support of a very close family", a source told the Express about the unusual invite.

The move is somewhat unprecedented, as a member outside of the Royal family has not been invited to stay at the Norfolk estate during the Christmas period before.

"It's a mark of the Queen's respect for Meghan and an acknowledgment that she doesn't have any other relations in this country - unlike Kate who has the support of a very close family", a source tells the United Kingdom outlet.

The House Of Windsor have previously arranged for the Duchess Of Cambridge's family to join them at church on Christmas morning but they did not stay at Sandringham.

Meghan - who is thought to be around four months pregnant - wore the striking outfit during a walkabout in Rotorua on her last day in New Zealand with her husband.

The royal family reportedly exchanges gifts on Christmas Eve, though extravagant presents aren't in the cards here.

Kate Middleton's mother Carol Middleton reportedly felt snubbed.
