Fire off in the comments section and let us know where you stand on the continuation of THE WALKING DEAD universe.

It's not the only project now in development for The Walking Dead Universe, with Gimple set to roll out a multi-year plan involving films, specials, series, and other vaguely described "digital content". Instead, he was flown away in a helicopter, injured after blowing up a bridge full of zombies to save his friends - but still alive.

There are spoilers below for Monday night's episode of The Walking Dead in the UK.

As you can see, TWD cast mates Danai Gurira, Khary Payton, Lennie James, who is actually now on spinoff Fear The Walking Dead, Seth Gilliam, Josh McDermitt and Pollyanna McIntosh are also among those in the tribute.

'Over the next several years, we're going to be doing specials, new series are quite a possibility, high-quality digital content and then some content that defies description at the moment, ' Gimple added.

This Sunday's episode of The Walking Dead on AMC ("What Comes After") is far from the season finale, but it's the end of an era nonetheless: It'll be the last episode for Andrew Lincoln, who's played series lynchpin Rick Grimes since the show launched in 2010. This may have looked grim for our hero, but now we know that the exit from the show was only to set up the beloved sheriff's introduction into a bigger cinematic universe. "We want to break new ground with different, distinct stories, all part of the same world that's captured our imagination for almost a decade of the Dead". AMC stresses that while Grimes will not return to the television series, his story will continue to be told in the movies. "It's not the beginning of the end, it's the end of the beginning", Lincoln said. "And I like the idea that we get to tell a bigger story, maybe with a sort of wider vista".

The move allows Lincoln to spend more time with his family, with a production time of just two months compared to the nine months it takes for a full season of the show. "I know nothing! [Laughs.] There are lots of moving parts to this extraordinary franchise". And I suppose to be able to kind of touch upon that in a contained story for me is a very exciting proposition.
