Ruby Rose debuts her sensational Batwoman costume for The CW

The character will be a part of the upcoming crossover episodes which will debut during December.

The Arrowverse crossover begins filming next week, according to ET Online, and will begin airing Sunday, Dec. 9 at 8 p.m. on The Flash.

We can turn off the Bat signal, because Batwoman has arrived!

Designed by Oscar victor Colleen Atwood, the fight-ready Batwoman costume features a winged cape, a red bat symbol across the chest, a utility belt, and, most striking of all, a red wig emerging from the traditional cowl.

See the first photo of Rose as Batwoman below. "Critics also accused Rose of not being a lesbian since she also refers to herself as gender-fluid". Though she will be introduced in the crossover event, Rose will then transition into her own Batwoman series, which is now in development for the 2019-20 television season at The CW.

Rose, who typically dresses as female but identifies as "gender fluid", was cast as the first openly gay superhero to headline a network television show last week, making entertainment - and comic book - history. Along with the her lesbian identity, The Hollywood Reporter points out, Kate Kane comes "armed with a passion for social justice and flair for speaking her mind". "But don't call her a hero yet - in a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham's symbol of hope". Critics hailed the casting as "perfect", and Rose described the role as a "childhood dream". Not only is the three night event travelling to Gotham City and introducing Ruby Rose as Batwoman, but the aptly-titled Elseworlds will also include characters like Superman, Nora Fries, Lois Lane, and The Monitor.
