Mixed reactions to Seann Walsh's Strictly apology

Strictly Come Dancing’s Katya Jones and Seann Walsh apologise for drunken “mistake” after kiss

Piers Morgan has backed Seann Walsh and Katya Jones to remain in Strictly Come Dancing following their kiss drama, and said he hopes they can "rise above the fray".

Walsh and Jones were photographed kissing outside a London pub at the weekend.

Walsh's estranged girlfriend, the actress Rebecca Humphries, subsequently took to Twitter to say she has not received apologies from Walsh or Jones and alleged that Walsh gaslighted her when she voiced her suspicions about his relationship with Jones.

Walsh and Jones, who is married, have now addressed the fallout during an appearance on BBC Two's Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two.

As you can see in the video above, when asked about the situation on Strictly partner show "It Takes Two", Seann said, "Obviously I'm sorry. for the hurt that I've caused".

He's also a professional dancer on Strictly but rather than being paired with a celebrity, he participates in the group dances.

Starting off with "My name is Rebecca Humphries and I am not a victim.', she said that the current narrative being told by the media was 'missing a couple of crucial elements" that she needed to clear up, and while she was offered to sell her side of the story, she wanted it to be on her own terms.

"But the main thing for me is that me and Neil are absolutely fine that's what matters to me the most". Our relationship wasn't flawless.

"In light of the story in today's newspaper I would like to offer my honest apologies for my actions, ' Seann's statement read on Sunday, "This is no excuse but it was a one-off drunken mistake which I am truly sorry for.' Katya's reiterated the drunken mistake, stating that the 'one-off mistake after some drinks" was 'not a reflection" on her five-year marriage to fellow professional dancer Neil Jones- who has also previously appeared on Strictly Come Dancing.

"You never think about the extent of the damage that you're going to do, in a moment of, you know the mistake that you've made".

"This is no excuse but it was a one-off drunken mistake which I am truly sorry for".

"I am not flawless, far from it".

"I think it's also important for me to say that the people that know me the most, that love me, know I'm not the person I'm being portrayed as".
