#MeToo: Alok Nath Accused Of Rape By Filmmaker Vinta Nanda

MeToo Shocks Bollywood! Mallika Dua Joins Vinta Nanda in Accusing the'Most Sanskari Babuji of Rape

Veteran television writer, director and producer Vinta Nanda has shared an account of alleged systematic misbehaviour by a lead actor on her TV show Tara both on the set and elsewhere. Twitter has been baying for Ms Nanda's alleged rapist Alok Nath's blood since her Facebook post last evening detailing not just the harrowing rape but also the years of isolation, depression, trauma and suffering that she endured after.

While Nanda did not name Nath, she said on her post "Irony is that the man, the predator in question here is the actor par excellence who is known as the most #Sanskaari (Cultured) person in the film and television industry". She later confirmed to IANS that she was referring to Alok Nath. Alok is known for his roles as a stereotypical Indian father, personifying religious traditions and moral values in films and TV shows. Claiming that she was a good friend at one point, Alok added that "in a way" he was responsible for making Vinta who she is today. "Nobody followed me or offered to drop me home, which was what was rather unusual".

Speaking to news channel ABP News, Nath said, "Neither I am denying this nor do I would agree with it". "I remember being violated endlessly".

"All I knew at the time was that I had to get home".

It was so brutal that the next morning she woke up, it was paining badly. The actress never had a cordial relationship with her co-star and had called him an alcoholic mess after he labelled her as a drug user in an interview.

In the same post, without taking names, Nanda has alleged that Alok Nath was after the lead actress of the show - Navneet Nishan. Navneet Nishan has finally opened up and extended her support to Nanda, who was the writer and producer of Tara. "I told some of my friends but everybody advised me to forget about it and move on", she said.

She goes on to describe her nervous breakdown after the second assault: "I tried to pick up the threads of my life but channels and networks and sets and rehearsals started to freak me out. Well, I do not want to talk much about it as for the matter if it has come out, it will be stretched". She added Nath would use his influence and, continued to hound and sexually harass in the years to come which led to her "nervous breakdown". "I thought saying "sanskaari" would do the needful", Nanda said. "It was after this that I quit", she said. "Don't hold yourselves back", she said.
