Kanye West Upstages Trump With a 10-Minute Oval Office Rant

Trump and West talked a range of topics including reducing violence in Chicago which is where the rapper grew

It's safe to say T.I. won't be tending shop with Kanye West anytime soon.

West went full multiverse theory in pitching clemency for Larry Hoover, founder of Gangster Disciples, because "in the alternate universe, I am him".

From where I was standing amid the forest of reporters and cameras, it was hard not to notice in the backdrop the prominent portrait of Andrew Jackson that has been on display since Trump moved in.

Tim Naftali, a presidential historian at New York University, said that Trump's meeting with West underscored that, as with other aspects of his presidency, Trump has chosen to make the Oval Office an accessory to his personality.

"Look at this, Jared", West said to the president's son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, as he presented him with drawings of his idea, the iPlane 1. West was referring to the Tesla CEO's recent problems with the SEC.

The Gold Digger rapper fumed to the audience: 'So many times I talk to a white person about this, and they say, "How could you support Trump?"

Asked about his comments in 2005 that President George W. Bush didn't "care about black people" after Hurricane Katrina, West said that "We need to care about all people" and that he "was programed to think in a victimized mentality".

"There's a whole lot of people in this country that do give you a lot of credit for everything you've been doing for this country", he said. Police officers are just like us, he said. "Also, I'm married to a family that does not have a lot of male energy. Let me come over here and get in this fight with you". I love everyone, right?

Trump told Fox and Friends Thursday: "He's a different kind of guy and that's OK with me".

Wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat, the controversial rapper spoke uninterrupted for around 10 minutes as the US President listened.

"You made a Superman - that's my favourite superhero - you made a Superman cape for me".

If Superman really was Kanye's favorite hero, he would know that Superman was the creation of two Jewish comic book artists during the early days of World War II in a response to the rise of fascism.

As he concluded, he rose to walk around the desk.

He also described West as a "smart cookie".

West even touched on how he was misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder.

Complaining about prison sentences, West said that people fall through a "trap door" and "end up next to the Unabomber".

"I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change", he said in the since-deleted tweets. After the spectacle, they had a lunch of roasted chicken, fingerling potatoes, and sautéed asparagus.
