Her swift response likely saved their lives, as the home was destroyed and debris was scattered throughout the neighborhood.

Israel's defence minister said on Tuesday that the protests could not be allowed to go on. No injuries were reported.

"We will defend Israeli civilians", it added, suggesting there would be a military response. The Gaza Health Ministry said a 25-year-old militant was killed inside one of the posts targeted. Five other Palestinians were wounded in separate attacks.

"Israeli jets started to attack terrorist targets in the Gaza strip", the army said hours after a projectile hit the city of Beer Sheva.

Following the rocket attack, schools were closed in Beersheba and in the communities immediately surrounding the Gaza Strip and residents of the Gaza periphery were barred from holding gatherings of more than 300 people outdoors and 500 people indoors. The recent disturbances on the Israeli-Gaza border have been caused by continued shelling and the launch of arson balloons by Hamas militants into Israeli territories. Egypt has been trying to mediate a long-term cease-fire to stave off another confrontation.

Someone or other in Gaza seems to want to get a war on.

"We are not prepared to accept the level of violence we see week after week", Avigdor Lieberman told troops and commanders at an army base near southern Israel's border with Gaza.

On a related note, FOX News continues to misreport the staging of Hamas's recurring assaults on Israel as a "protest" against "the Israeli blockade" - the blockade that is meant to prevent terrorists from obtaining the tools of their trade. The blockade has restricted Hamas' ability to govern and made life extremely hard for Gaza's 2 million residents.

"Over the past few weeks, Hamas has intensified the violence on the border after the failure of talks with Egyptian intelligence services in Cairo about reconciliation and calm and after the refusal of [Palestinian Authority] chairman Mahmoud Abbas to remove the sanctions that he imposed on the Gaza Strip", according to the JCPA's report.

Protesters threw flaming tires over the fence Monday, while fishing boats hoisted Palestinian flags.

Some 20 Palestinians managed to cross the border during Friday's protest. Seven Palestinians were killed, including four who the military said had entered Israel and approached a military position.

Lieberman said Hamas ramped up violence along the border following a humanitarian move by Israel to deliver Qatari-funded fuel for Gaza's only power plant.

"We are very close to a different kind of activity, an activity that will include very powerful blows".

"If it has any sense, Hamas will cease its fire and violent outbursts - now", he said Sunday.

Since protests began on March 30, Israeli forces have killed at least 205 Palestinians in the besieged coastal enclave.

One Israeli soldier has been killed by Hamas sniper fire in that time.

Likewise, Hamas launched boats in an effort to break through Israel's maritime blockade, but they were stopped by the IDF.
