"It can't get any closer after two games, right?"

Justin Turner's two-run homer in the eighth inning lifted the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 4-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers Saturday that knotted their Major League Baseball playoff series at one game each.

After avoiding a decisive fifth game against Atlanta, the Dodgers send ace left-hander Clayton Kershaw to the mound for the opener. He had a 4.65 ERA in 10 career appearances, including seven starts, going into Friday.

So we add extra potential outs. "We got possibilities, a lot of possibilities for tomorrow, so good stuff".

Game 2 is this afternoon.,.pregame at 2:35 on WSAU. The Brewers', aside from Josh Hader, were not. All three relievers are capable of closing. "Sometimes you got to defend your players", Cora said.

It was the first time in postseason history that a pitcher homered in a lefty vs. lefty matchup. The strategy at the plate doesn't change, either, just because Milwaukee's relievers are so good.

Game two of the best-of-seven series is Sunday, with Boston left-hander David Price trying to end his postseason skid against Astros righty Gerrit Cole.

"We were in really good shape with the effort that Wade gave us", Brewers manager Craig Counsell said.

Chasing the starter will require building an early lead that might require the Brewers to dip into his bullpen earlier or more often than planned.

Pressure in the NLCS?

The Dodgers out-hit the Brewers 9-7.

"You want to stay out there, but that's the route we've taken all year", Miley told reporters. "But without those guys, we wouldn't be in this position". The Dodgers staged a late rally against the Brewers' feared bullpen, and put the tying run on third base before Corey Knebel struck out Turner to end it.

After Game 1 of the NLCS between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers, which came down to to the wire and went in the Brewers' favor due to their lock down bullpen, both teams have made a few tweaks heading into Game 2. Some expected Milwaukee to turn to right-hander Jhoulys Chacin for Game 1, but he'll get the nod in Game 3 instead.

No bullpen day to open up the series for the Brewers.

The last thing Gio Gonzalez expected six weeks ago was to be the Game 1 starter in the National League Championship Series.

Alexander was 2-1 with a 3.68 ERA and three saves this season.

numberFire's models project Gonzalez to score 29.0 FanDuel points in Game 1.

An 11-year veteran, Gonzalez is 4-1 with a 1.89 ERA in six career starts against the Dodgers.

"It was a tough one", he said.

The NLCS will begin in the park where All-Star Manny Machado made his Dodgers' debut.

The power and run production are big reasons the Dodgers acquired Machado from the Baltimore Orioles prior to the trade deadline.

"I was just trying to elevate, get something in the air", Turner said.
