The first trailer for Captain Marvel is here

We've been waiting for what seems like an eternity, but Marvel has finally released the first full trailer for Captain Marvel. Set photos earlier this month showed our first proper look at Brie Larson in the titular role, whilst a digitally de-aged Samuel L. Jackson was shown, not to mention Jude Law as the alien Mar-Vell. The powerful montage of witnessing Danvers getting right back up again every time she falls gives viewers a glimpse of who Carol Danvers has always been. "It never occurred to me that one might come from above".

Captain Marvel's real name is Carol Danvers, who was a pilot in the United States Air Force. Set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel introduces the most powerful superhero in the MCU (according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige) through the perspective of Nick Fury, then a young S.H.I.E.L.D. agent with both eyes intact. "I keep having these memories".

Fury continues to narrate the footage: "Space invasion, big vehicle chase - truth be told, I was ready to hang it up until I met you today". "I see flashes. I think I had a life here".

Later, she is seen punching an old woman, and we can assume the old woman is a Skrull shapeshifter.

Captain Marvel launches on March 8, 2019, the fourth Avengers movie on May 3, 2019, and Spider-Man: Far From Home on July 5, 2019. The conflict between the Skrulls and the Kree is also teased. After all, the post-credits scene from Avengers: Infinity War shows Fury paging Captain Marvel just as he was turned into dust by Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet-fueled snap. Because while fans knew about the bare bones of Captain Marvel's story, there is no way they could have predicted the type of project that the blockbuster appears to be.
