Seahawks host linebacker Mychal Kendricks on free agent visit

Mychal Kendricks was released by the Browns after being charged with insider trading

The reason that's notable is because even if Kendricks were to sign with the Seahawks, there's a chance he wouldn't be able to finish the season. Two people with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press on Thursday that Kendricks' agreement is expected to be finalized in time for him to join the Seahawks for their Week 2 Game at Chicago.

Notwithstanding a legal trouble that could lead to a lengthy jail time, linebacker Mychal Kendricks is on the verge of making a return to National Football League action.

Mychal Kendricks was recently cut by the Cleveland Browns after being charged with insider training.

The beleaguered linebacker is facing up to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to insider trading earlier this month.

Kendricks first made headlines in late August when charges of insider trading were brought against the six-year National Football League veteran.

The Browns released him from the team on August 29, after the charges were filed. It listed Wagner as having a groin injury.

Seattle not likely to waste any time: Kendricks expected to play Monday night vs. Bears. He recorded 14 sacks, three interceptions and five fumble recoveries in that span. Kendricks signed with Cleveland in the offseason and the Browns said they made the decision to release him after learning more about his involvement. Kendricks allegedly made investments on business enterprises back in 2014 based on information illegally shared by former Goldman Sachs employee turned TV writer Damilare Sonoiki. "I am committed to repaying all of the funds gained illegally and accept the consequences of my actions".
