Roseanne Barr Reveals How Her Character Dies on 'The Connors'

Roseanne: My character gets killed off 'The Conners' by opioid overdose

Barr, 65, admitted she has accepted her fate and the fact that the show is moving on without her.

If you remember back in June, Roseanne Barr was sacked from her hit show Roseanne just hours after she posted a tweet about former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett, comparing her to the "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes".

"Roseanne" costar John Goodman speaks out for the first time since ABC's cancelation of the hit sitcom, defending Roseanne Barr against allegations of racism; Jonathan Hunt reports from Los Angeles.

Roseanne Barr isn't happy with the way The Conners is handling her character's exit.

Barr said the decision to have Roseanne Conner die of an opioid overdose was is an insult to the fans "who loved that family in that show".

Now it is quite possible that the writers for The Conners could change their minds on how to kill Roseanne, but she seemed pretty serious and pretty pissed about the whole thing altogether. "But I was never going to have Roseanne die of an opioid overdose". "She should have died as a hero". The 65-year-old actress took the opportunity to take some shots at ABC and Disney for her firing after she posted a racist tweet taking aim at Obama White House aide Valerie Jarrett in the spring.

The Conners stars John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, Laurie Metcalf, Lecy Goranson, Michael Fishman, Emma Kenney, Ames McNamara and Jayden Rey.

Barr also revealed what she thinks about her character being killed off.

"I have people on the other side too", she told Straka.

'I wanted to show [opioid struggle] in the show. "It's done. It's over. There's no fight left".
