Pokémon Developer Game Freak Announces TOWN for Nintendo Switch

The entirety of the game's story will take place in one small village that lives in peace until the arrival of monsters.

A surprise announcement came during today's Nintendo Direct where Game Freak, world-renowned for their development of the main series Pokémon titles, revealed Town, a new RPG coming to Nintendo Switch in 2019. The introduction video teases that the village has a secret. Perhaps just exploring and meeting the town's inhabitants are all that's involved, but knowing Game Freak there's likely more to Town's gameplay than is immediately apparent. Game Freak would then go outside of Nintendo's publishing, working with Sega to release Tembo the Badass Elephant and self-publishing Giga Wrecker on PC. It's up to you and members of the town to save the village from destruction. We'll find out when it releases on the Nintendo Switch sometime next year. But it's certainly quality over quantity, so we're best waiting to see what Game Freak has in store. Game Freak could later change the name from Town to something else entirely as it is just a working title for the time being.

Battles are turn-based and during combat you will be able to summon other townspeople to help you conquer any and all challenges.
